This Is A®merica

During my time in the U.S., I was struck by how normalized school shootings have become, with children even participating in drills involving simulated gunfire. Instead of addressing the root causes—such as the accessibility and glorification of firearms—this alarming reality is being accepted as routine. This trend is now spreading to Europe and our region.

As an independent artist with experience in nonviolence and reconciliation projects, I feel a moral responsibility to confront this issue. My project, This Is A®merica (Phase 1), includes an art exhibition inspired by headlines about school shootings and the promotion of gun culture. The goal is to raise awareness about this growing problem. Phase 2 will expand the effort through a traveling exhibition and educational programs focused on conflict resolution and emotional intelligence, in collaboration with schools, communities, and civil society organizations.
